“No Love in the heart of the city”

The Cleveland Cavs are in a full rebuild rather they like it or not. Admitting this would lead us to a major question. If we are rebuilding what is the purpose of having a guy like Kevin Love on the roster? I like Love and I appreciate his play and willingness to be here in Cleveland. With that being said after the fiasco we call free agency happen. A ton of teams rather realistic or unrealistic think they have a chance to win a title. The NBA is probably the most balanced its ever been. So a guy like Love will be at a premium for a team looking to be a part of the start pairing or a forward thinking team that could add him as a 3rd, 4th option. The Cavs could cash in on this because they have no horse in this race. Taking the full rebuild approach I believe they will eventually be rewarded with a star from the draft or having enough assets to pull off a Brooklyn type rebuild. We have never been able to do this because we have deservingly been at LeBron’s mercy so we always have cut corners. This time we need to do it the Golden State, OKC way. The time is now and I’m sure there are some packages that could blow them away. Unfortunately in a NBA with no loyalty to the team/city. GMs and owners need to get ahead of the curve and start making some power moves.
