Everyone is so focused on Cleveland’s dynamic offense and what it is going to be. I want to say hold off not so fast. I understand that we have some big names and personalities on offense there is no choice but to gravitate towards that side of the ball. Look at what I believe separates this team from just a whole bunch of hype to a legit super bowl contender is this very nasty defense to be. We all can agree that Miles Garrett is one of the best young pass rushers I’m the NFL. We were able to see that even though double triple teams, bad coaching (not letting him use all of his moves to rush passer), and teams running everything away from him. Now the team has added another really good pass rusher on the other side so if you decide to play him how you did last year your QBs will have a very long day. On the inside of the line you just added a very strong lineman in Sheldon Richardson so your front four is legitimately in the top 5-10 fronts in the whole NFL. Now let’s go to the back end of the defense where you already have a shutdown corner plus two solid slot dbs. You get potential the steal of the draft Greedy Williams to now have Two shutdown Dbs. With a strong pass rush they shouldn’t have a field day in the takeaway department. Lastly the area of “weakness” linebacker. I think that it’s an underrated position group. Joe Shobert a former pro bowler and very good coverage lb. Along with a couple rookies I think that will surprise you im Taki Taki and Wilson you will see that we have some guys who can hit and cover ground at the linebacker position. Overall with a solid scheme that will include a good amount of zone. The front four generating pressure. Plus an offense that can put up points in a hurry. I don’t see this defense giving up more then 21 on most nights. If this holds true I have faith the offense will score 3 touchdowns in most games. When it gets cold here watch out. The Defense will be the major reason why this team goes from good to legit contenders.
